Editorial Policy

Our editorial process is designed for clarity, caution, and usefulness. We prioritize government health sources, medical education resources, prescribing and safety information, and transparent consumer-protection guidance.

Source hierarchy

1. Government and regulator sources such as FDA, NIH/NIDDK, CDC, and FTC.
2. Medical education sources such as MedlinePlus.
3. Peer-reviewed or professional-society sources when needed.
4. Provider or commercial sources only for provider-specific facts, and only when labeled.

Medical review status

Current pages are editorially reviewed for clarity and source alignment. They are not labeled as reviewed by a licensed clinician unless a named clinician has reviewed the page.

Corrections

If a page is unclear or outdated, contact us and include the page URL and the source you believe should be considered.

Update workflow

Foundation pages are reviewed when major source pages change, when new regulator guidance affects the topic, when a factual issue is reported, or during scheduled content maintenance. Each article includes a published and modified date in its page metadata.

Commercial content policy

If product comparisons, provider reviews, or affiliate links are added, commercial pages must disclose relationships clearly, explain methodology, and keep medical claims within source-backed educational boundaries. Compensation must not determine whether a page includes safety information, alternatives, or warnings.
