Before the visit
Write down your current medications and supplements, allergies, medical conditions, pregnancy plans if relevant, recent lab results if you have them, and prior weight-care attempts. Also write down what you are worried about: cost, side effects, injections, long-term use, or safety.
If the visit is online, check whether you will meet a licensed clinician, how follow-up works, and how prescriptions or lab requests are handled.
During the visit
The clinician may ask about weight history, eating patterns, activity, sleep, mood, digestion, blood sugar, blood pressure, and family history. They may discuss medication options, non-medication support, or reasons a prescription may not be appropriate.
You should not feel rushed into a purchase. A careful program explains both possible benefits and risks.
After the visit
You may receive a plan, lab instructions, follow-up schedule, lifestyle guidance, or a recommendation to coordinate with your primary care clinician. If medication is part of the plan, ask how side effects are handled and when to seek medical help.
